Mitigation: Rick and his team were absolutely AMAZING!!! Our insurance company recommended Arko because they did the... mitigation and repair/rebuild of homes. Hands down would choose Rick and his team for the mitigation side if our house ever has water damage again. They came out the same day and ripped out everything that had water damage to prevent mold from happening. They got to our home around 8 am and were there until 8 pm. These guys were not going to leave until they were absolutely done. I could not have asked for a smoother mitigation process.Repair/Rebuild side: I would like to preface that I know it's a busy time of year for remodels, especially at a time like this where everyone is home and doing lots of home renovation projects. Todd did an amazing job on our estimate. As a homeowner, our hours was destroyed by water. The water ruined our kitchen, living room, dining room, and master bedroom. I do understand that it takes time for the contractor and insurance agent to come to an agreement on how much the damages cost. With that being said, I had gone to Lowe's to pay for cabinets out of pocket so I could get the ball rolling. I did not know if our insurance agent was going to approve new cabinets or not but I knew that I needed them. Insurance called 6/17/2020 to say that they approved our estimate and were mailing out the check that day. 6/22/2020 Tony calls to set up a time to come to our home on 6/25/2020 to do a walkthrough since we were wanting to add on to the rebuild. An hour before our appointment, Tonu called to cancel because something had come up where he could not come out anymore. We decided to go with another company because we did our due diligence to have a couple contractors come in to do a bid. There was no word of rescheduling for Friday and we were not going to be home for two weeks because my husband is part of the Iowa Guard and I would be traveling to spend the holidays with his family. I was hoping to have a final decision today and had hoped to have Arko's bid also. That did not happen which is fine and should have been left at that. Todd had called because he was wondering why we no longer needed Arko to come out and do the estimate. I had explained to him that we could not wait to make a decision. He then told me that this is the nature of the business where things pop up and they have to reschedule. I get it but needed to also think about the best interest for my home. We can't wait 2 weeks for Arko to come out and give us a bid. In my honest opinion, I felt berated for ordering our cabinets and having Lowe's install them. I also was frustrated at the fact that I felt scolded because I was "putting the cart in front of the horse" and I should have waited for them to come out and do it. He had finally got me to agree to him calling back Tony and trying to get him to come back tomorrow. Called me back 5 minutes later and said that they were going to decline coming out because I was acting as my own contractor and they did not want to get in a bidding war. Which is fine. There wasn't going to be a "bidding war". I was just choosing a contractor who could get in and do the job in a timely manner within our budget. I was also told that they were not used to the homeowner handling all the money but I am sure glad the insurance company didn't hand them the money or else our house probably wouldn't have been done until December. We could have just left it the way it was when Tony called and I just wanted to completely cancel but it had to be dragged out to so much more.Conclusion:- Loved Rick and his team. Super professional and timely. Way to run a team Rick!!- Estimate was perfect and I highly appreciated Todd for all his hard work in getting the estimate submitted to our insurance.- Follow through on the estimate was shaky. Wished we could have went with Arko but we couldn't wait for the timing constraints on both ends.read more

I am writing this addition to my initial review. ARKO finally sent guys out twice more to fix the problems I noted... during walk throughs and so we are finally satisfied by the work completed.I would rate a zero if I could. They started our project last October. They had told us they would have a supervisor on site to manage and supervise the work. They didn't. Had 4 guys perform the work, couldn't speak English. Showed up unannounced. Didn't protect anything around the property. Damaged things, tried to get us to pay in full for the work and I refused until they finish the job. They said it was just warranty work remaining. They damaged my gutters, said they would be in contact with us the following week after they came to the house for payment, that was three weeks ago. Even Casey their GM called me apologized, said communication is key and hasn't called back to let me know when they will be back to repair my gutters. I wanted to hire people who were more local and had a good rating, but they must be getting friends and family to do their reviews. They are not cheap, were recommended by my insurance agent, but haven't lived up to any of the promises they made. and I have no idea if they will actually come back to finish this job.read more
From the beginning to the end of the job, the staff from ARKO was incredible. The project manager, Mike, worked with... our insurance adjuster to make sure that all damages were included. Their work was completed in a timely manner and they cleaned up perfectly.
